Prospect Studio

Overview

Prospect Studio is a web app for web designers. It finds strong local businesses with weak, broken, outdated, social-only, or missing websites, keeps every one on a single board, and helps the designer research, plan, and build an updated site for them.

Challenge

Good local businesses often have websites that undersell them. Finding those businesses, keeping track of what was already reviewed, and turning a rough idea into a real redesign usually lives in spreadsheets, browser tabs, and memory.

Solution

A board that works as the system of record. Discovery runs add businesses to it without replacing what is already there, and duplicates are caught. Each record separates verified facts from inferences and proposals, scores the business and the size of the web gap, and writes a plain-language summary of what the current site gets wrong and why it matters. When the designer decides a business is worth it, one action sets up a project workspace with a build brief, so the redesign starts from evidence instead of a blank page.

The app never contacts anyone. It sends no email, calls, texts, form submissions, or social messages. Whether and how to reach out is the designer’s own decision, made outside the app.

Current status

In development. Used in-house to research and build redesign previews, each one clearly labeled as an independent, speculative redesign.

Vision

A focused tool that helps independent designers spend their time on the work itself, building better sites for businesses that deserve them, instead of on hunting and bookkeeping.
